Vaga – Procurement Manager
Sacos De Matutuine, S.A. (“SAMA”), the first Mozambican-based state-of-the-art producer of woven plastic bags for the cement and food industry, a Maputo-incorportated manufacturing company producing woven plastic fabrics (bags) for the cement and food industry in its Matutuine factory is looking for a Procurement Manager.
The procurement manager is responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, goods and services essentials for SAMA’s operations. This role involves supplier management, cost optimization, contract negotiation and ensuirng the tiemly delivery of quality material to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate global supplier universe (producer and distributor) to source key raw materials such as Polypropylene, Paper, Ink.
Establish contacts and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor market trends.
Negotiate contracts to secure cost-effective and timely delivery.
Manage procurement process from order to delivery at plant.
Manage TC, Tax and Duty Process.
Manage transport & logistics process.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with production and finance teams to align procurement activities.
Required Skills
At least 5+ years leadership position in international procurement
Assertive – strong negotiation and communication skills.
Market knowledge (domestic and international).
Ability to identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with reliable suppliers.
Proficiency in negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms.
Analytical skills: Strong understanding of cost structures and pricing trends for goods.
Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving.
Adaptability & Flexibility to adjust given market trends and company needs.
Ability to handle pressure, tight deadlines and unforeseen challenges.
Proactive: Takes initiative to anticipate and address potential procurement risks.
Team Player.
MS Office and ideally familiar with PRIMAVERA procurement platform.
This role requires a mix of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a collaborative mindset to drive efficiency and ensure uninterrupted production operations.
